These are Leah's first pigtails! I finally got her to hold still long enough to try them. In other news, she has successfully been binkie-free for two weeks and has been a pro at sleeping on her own for three weeks. What a big girl! :)

First word, first steps...
Today, Leah surprised us with a lot of new things. Several times, she greeted me with a "hi" when I walked in the room she was in! I think this is her first word that she associates with its real meaning. (She can say the sounds for other words, though, like "cheese" and "baby", but they are kind of at random times.)
Then, tonight, she started standing for longer periods of time on her own, like up to 10-15 seconds! Before today, it was only 4-5 seconds. Then she took about 4 steps! All by herself! Yay! She seems to get really excited when she tries to stand and walk, so I bet she will practice a lot and get this walking thing down in no time :)

Leah loves to "read"!
Leah started "reading" to herself a couple of weeks ago, but I just caught her on camera this morning! Sometimes she will even sit down with a book next to one of us and "read" to us. We hope she is going to be a little bookworm one day ;)
This book in the video is her favorite. It's called "How I Became a Pirate", and she picks it up much more often than any other book! Thanks, Amanda :)

Leah's Fourteen-Month "Birthday"
Happy fourteen months, Leah! We probably won't be doing anything out of the ordinary, except maybe sorting out some more clothes that no longer fit. It's amazing how quickly babies grow!
